My name is Michele Klein and I live in Beverly Hills, California. My life is a little bit of everything. I used to be a spokesperson for a skincare company, when I decided that I really wanted to work in media. By day, I work in Advertising Sales Marketing for a multimedia network managing television, digital, mobile and magazine platforms. By night (and sometimes during the day, let’s be honest), I’m a style obsessed junkie who spends every nanosecond filling her brain with creative inspiration, shopping knowledge and fabulosity currency.
For work, I end up spending a lot of time in New York which allows me to breathe in the pinnacle of sartorial execution. I luvz, it’s my favsies. If it wasn’t so cold and so far away from my family, I would live there.
If you haven’t already noticed, I use a lot of slang. Some might say I speak in hashtags. It’s the way I speak with my friends, and since you are now included in that category, welcome to Michelingo.
At a wedding recently, a San Francisco socialite came up to me and in her lovely British accent inquired “I adore your dress, is it Halston?” I held back a giggle and with a gracious smile said “No, I bought it for $25 at a recycled clothing store.” She was astonished. I felt like doing a victory dance . It’s moments like those that made me realize I HAD TO start this site.
How is it that everyone doesn’t know these simple secrets for an über chic, accessible lifestyle? The reality is, some people don’t have the energy or the time. There are so many options, it can be overwhelming. My design strength is in pairing what I call the “high-low,” Yves Saint Laurent platforms and a Joe Fresh dress? Check. A Ralph Lauren dining table and chairs I bought on eBay for $200? Check. Pottery Barn martini glasses and a place setting from Walmart? Check. The bonus is sometimes I find those YSL heels in a thrift store for $30. Sometimes I find that perfect piece of furniture on Craigslist. I’m here to help you navigate the saturated style jungle. Let’s get started.
